Chiangmai city
The city town here is awesome, really nice city with a relaxed vibe, heaps smaller that Bangkok but heaps cultural. We met up with Shaye n Lee who r travelling through Asia on the way to live with us in France, well meet up with them in Paris in a few days. Was heaps good swapping stories n hearing what they’ve been up to on their travels so far.
We’re staying at the nicest place in the city, a 2 story wooden Thai house run by young artists n musicians, really relaxed and so chilled it’s horizontal. We met them out the other night when we went for a few drinks in an area called rege street was heaps more than just rege tho, jazz bands on one bar old school cover band in another, and a Thai metal band! So epic, Thai punks everywhere doing fire shows n creating chaos! Haha ended us drinking with the Thai guys from our place till the early hours! So much fun! The weekend market was so big with food and so much cheap clothes and souvenirs, went there 2 nights in a row and ate o much I felt sic, but the food is so good I just don’t realise I’m full n just keep eating. Haha
We hired scooters n headed up to a temple on the mountain near chang mai city, was a fun scooter trip but the temple was a but ho hum, seen a few n there all the same. The temperature is so mild it’s sometimes cold as, up the mountain was soo cold in the shade, hooking along on the scooter wishing I had brought a jumper with me. We also went to the tiger kingdom, awesome! We decided to pay n go in the cage with 3 tigers, so so good to see the magic animals up close n pat them. We hired a photographer to take photos of us! So worth it all up bout 10$ aus! Saw baby cubs and the old huge male ‘Rambo’ weighing in at 350kg! Such a massive creature, n so glad we went to see them!

We had to regrettably leave chang mai and head back to Bangkok for out connecting flight to France. We arrived in the city in a place called kasan road, Wow bout 5 am and lady boys n drunk tourists everywhere, rank! Got a shitty as room, it didn’t even have a power point! And on the 5th floor but load of stairs, waaa! Not even slightly bad compared to what happened to matt n jess. They had 10,000 bart stolen from them at sum stage on the bus trip to Bangkok. And they only just realised when they went to pay for the room. It’s about 350$ aus, really shit seeing we will be in France in 2 days, we all need all the money we can get!
We headed out on out last night in Thailand, thought we might go out with a bang n we we did that in style! Night started at a bar with a live band, which was really good, thai blokes doing covers of old classics, they love it! Met a heap of ppl all on the way throught Bangkok, hearing stories n telling a few of my own, Funny stuff. Went exploring the town a bit later on n found a club, which I had to be patted down to get in. was so huge, a really basic unassuming entrance with all the lights off, opened up into an epic space with a really high sealing stone bar with couches, and a huge DJ stage, lasers, good music, so nice. After that finished bout 2 causeof the curfew headed to a street stall to drink a few more beers, then another bar back in town. Just stayed there drinking n chatting till 11am! Didn’t bother going to bed, haha so much fun! Part from I got my camera stolen at sum point! Waaa only lost a few snaps n the camera was a bit buggered anyway, still ******* annoying. Later on that day bout 9pm headed to the airport, next stop France!

Chiangmai
After 22 hours on 2 busses 1 border crossing we’re back in Thailand in chiangmai, the first overnight bus was pimp as, nice chairs, blankets, TV, double Decker, all good! Well till they turned on the tv! First we watched a bond move from half way with laos dubbing and no subtitles TWICE! Cause the dvd stuffed up, then we watched some Asian sope opera! Random but funny to watch, then the driver put on a mixed cd!… haha the bus was pimp as but not this pimp, r’n’b gangster dance music really loud!! Hahaha the bus was half full n everyone just wanted to go to sleep cause there was noting else to do! But no the driver n his mates up the front had diff ideas. Gets better! After they played that fro a bit! Karaoke anyone?? To bad your going to get it anyway! Hahaha so shit but in a funny way, this was in the space of me waiting for my sleeping pills to kick in, thank god I bought them!
Rudely awoken by a massive jolt as the bus hurtles along a shitty as single lane road, to find we’re on gravel! What? Dbl decker pimp as bus on a gravel mountain road! Waaa so rough! Was so strange sections were sealed n others just gravel, like someone had stolen sections of the tarmac! So strange! It’s like 2 am at this stage, n managed to get back to sleep.

Lang probang
Headed off bout 10am n only just made it to the bus stop on time! Oops. Buss trip was about 10 hours n slept for a heap of it, waking every half an hour or so to my head hitting the window or chair in front as we smash over ditches and ruts in the road. The countryside was so beautiful steep as mountains and hectic dodge as roads, average speed of about 40kmh! The bus broke down but the Laos bus driver sorted it out tho pulled something out n had it fixed n back in within 20 mins!
Matt n jesses mate soph is starting out on her 4 month SE Asian holiday n came to meet us in Lang probang, nice to see a familiar face. She lived in Jindabyne last season and gave us a lift to the airport in Sydney. Lang probabg is such a nice as place loads of culture n really nice atmosphere, we went n saw the monks do their parade at 6 am one morning, theirs about 100 of them snaking through the town in single file with ppl giving them food, flowers n gifts. Was amazing to see them all with their shaved heads n orange roabs, huge range of ages some really old, to young kids bout 12.
We went n checked out the silk weaving n spinning over the river, was interesting as to see how It’s done so painstaking. On average takes one lady about a month to make a 2m y 1m piece of silk. Pending on the quality of the silk all really cheap and couldn’t find anything over 100$. Sorry mum only thing I could afford was to take photos! Hehe. Saw a lady making paper by hand in a screen like grade 4 art style. They make all sorts of lanterns n books n albums, the kinds of things your mum n grandmother would froth over.
Went to see a waterfall (another one) but this one made up for the other dud ones we couldn’t find! Wow! So massive, and the water running down was a aqua milky blue from the mineral content, there were pools lined with mineral deposits formed for millions or years, there was a rope swing at one point (wofle compared to tubing hehe) but made a really nice place for a swim, nice n cool n didn’t matter it started to rain.

It’s a hard life!
So yesterday was my 3rd day tubing, no tube tho, just swim to the bars cheap as, bout 1.20$ for a taxi there, beers are 1.20$ big as long necks! Nice! There is a bottle of whiskey on every bar! It’s free help your self! Haha to the point where you can just take a whole bottle to your table! Not that you’d want to have too much cause its pretty rubbish, taste ok but the next day hangover, so bad! Controlled myself with the drinking, n powered through 12 hours of dancing n water sports! So good! But today no good at all I’m sic as can’t hold anything in, gut cramps n can’t sleep! Waaaa! spent the day in bed! N I was meant to go tubing again n meet up with mates form previous days! Waaaa! So sore from dancing my arms n legs Cain along with a sore gut! It’s been a good run 5 weeks eating everything and anything, first time sic! O well tubing tomorrow if I feel ok! Hehehe loving life!

All a bunch of wasters!
So that’s 4 days tubing n still loving life! Bought 1 drink all day! Got a job! Well sorta, had to give out cotton bracelets telling ppl that cheap as drinks at bar 2 and before 9 thirty they can get buckets for 10,000 at Q bar in town! Yep that’s right ppl third bottle of whiskey concentrate redbull and a dash of sprite or coke! Yep you guessed it that’s like 1.15$ aus! Hahaha most irresponsible service of alcohol since full moon party, only for helping out! got a few free drinks n danced n rope swinged myself through 7 bars along the river! Best time ever pitty I have to go tomoro off at 10! Out n about tonight meeting up with a heap pf ppl for dinner n then off to Q bar! See what tonight will bring! O YEAH!

After a full ray recovering!
Hired some scooters bout lunchtime, headed in search of the caves on the island an a place called blue lagoon, wow so epic! The lagoon was this epic water whole, rope swings, the usual bars n such, the water was a turquoise colour cause of the minerals running out of the cave up the hill. Was nice to swim in cool water for once, the ocean and rivers so far have been like a bath! Up into the cave with one torch between the 3 of us, so huge like natures cathedral. 35m atleast to the top and 60 across n headed back into the black bat cave! Mat cut his foot when tubing n was limping bad so we didn’t go in to far but still so amazing! On the way up to the cave wasn’t to bad, like a ladder but on the wsy down, jeeez! Controlled fall! Haha dense as jungle with a cool breeze flowing out of the cave was a nice change. On the way home tried heading to another cave but was a 30 min walk to get into it, n with matts foot we decided against it. But wild life wow, herds of cows on the gravel road with young ones in tow, it’s the time of year I suppose. Puppies dashing across the road made the drive interesting almost crashed into the back of Matt’s scooter cause of baby chickens! Haha. Awww! Got off the graven in search of another cave n belting on a thin as bush track come around a corner n full on into about 15 water buffalo! Huge animals, quick u bolt n into the trees for cover, fearful as animals so epic to see them in the wild! With babies and 2 albino buffalo would have been a sic Kodak moment! O yeah that’s right we got wasted n broke our camera yesterday! haha O well one for the memory! On the way home stopped for a snack, really close to the start of the tubing bars! Couldn’t resist! Do it again! On my own! Met up with a few mates form yesterday. Hahaha epic few hours n didn’t do to large cause I still had to drive. Driving a scooter is hard enough on these roads with pot wholes n no apparent road rules! Now have to drive on the right had side! Laos was colonised by the French, thus driving on the right! Haha. All good tho, organised to do it all again tomorrow! I love tubing! Haha wish you were all here!

A day to remember
OMG!!! The most scared I’ve been in my entire life!!! No joke!
Rolled into getting sorted for the tubing experience aboat mid day, bit hung over form the epic last night I had smashing buchets n dancing my ass off! Haha just can’t help myself haha. Jumped on a tuk tuk n headed to the start line getting pumped up by the randoms who were raving about it n were going for their 2nd day in a row! Not to mention the guy who has been every day for 320 days!! Another bloke 108, Swedish chic I met 18 days, the list goes on! And I can see why!! I’m finding it really hard to put it into words! But basically the biggest rope swings I’ve ever seen + a river + alcohol + defining loud music + mud pits + body paint = AWSEOME!! Ppl say it’s like Ibiza on water! can’t remember having a better time anywhere! ….. But then!
19 hours later! 7 am! Shit! my head hurts, I’ve lost an earring, my bathroom is covered in mud, I had to smash the loch off the door to my room cause matt n jess had my key, wow what an epic day n night! Thought better go see if matt n jess r ok, I lost them at sum point in the arvo. They didn’t answer the door after me bashing on it. Got a key from reception to check if they were just passed out asleep in there! Nope not in there room! O shit where are they! Waited about for an hour, went looking in town, went o sunrise bar where they might be passed out sum where! Nope! Shit! So scared cause when I last saw them we were heaps pissed! 3 ppl this year have died doing tubing n heres me thinking it’s going to he 5!! Stressing big time, almost to the point of being sic. Sitting I my room peaking out trying not to think about it, passing time n thinking where the closest police station or hospital was!…. bout an hour n a half later, tap tap on my door! Awesome mat n jess r ok! They lost each other down the river jess was sitting on her own with a Laos bloke round a fire when she heard matt yelling help from the river! No idea how they found each other! Completely lost n no one around! And in the dark now! They ended up sleeping on some deck thing in the middle of nowhere! With a friendly as Laos fisherman! They got up n floated for an hour before getting back to town! Not before doing shots with their new found friend! I was so happy n relived they were ok! Never been so scared in my life! Totally doing it again! See how I feel in a few hours! Waster! Hahaha loving life! Small bad incident tho, matts camera is stuffed! Water n mud not such a good idea! Bummer.

I love Laos!

Spent the night in viet tani in after getting out visas at the train station, my first impressions bout Laos were mixed, stoked to b in a diff country but as the capital viet tani wasn’t that good, the vibe just wasn’t there. Loads of buildings being built but no real signature laos culture, well not yet! The tok tok drivers still always harassing you for rids even tho the town was tiny and I’m very capable of walking, o yeah n by the way, there all drug dealers! No shit, I heard of another traveller at sum point about it but didn’t believe it.

Me; ‘huh?…… Nah thanks’

Matt; ‘did he just say what I thought he said?’

Sneaking suspicion that if you were to make a purchase they’d take you on your tuk tuk ride n just happen to drop you off at the cop shop, haha shazam! in a laos jail awesome fun! Not! Hahaha! Happened like 5 times since we’ve been there! Crazy. Spose it’s like Amsterdam only the tourists get wasted n the locals know about it n don’t go crazy with it haha!

Got a minivan trip to viet vien, over some of the most beautiful countryside I’ve seen since I’ve been here, plains of rice growing with farmers tending to it with water buffalo scattered throughout, with amazing ruggered mountains in the background! Epic! The van trip was cramped as, 3.5 hours over crazy mountain roads going fast as round blind corners, overtaking at the worst times! Haha kinda used to it now.

Viet vien is famous for ‘tubing’ an epic day where you float down a fiver with bars on the shore yelling at you do buy drinks with pumping music, water slides, rope swings, mud pits, o yeah n mix that with a few buckets of booz! I’ve been told it’s like Ibiza on water! I’ll see for myself later on today! Hehehe can’t wait.

Went out last night, so good! Biggest party town, middle of the most amazing mountains that remind me of the walls of Jerusalem in Tas. heaps of tourists and the most epic vibe, with awesome friendly locals, heaps of bars n lounge areas. Met heaps of new ppl, a bloke from Hawaii, girls ‘sisters’ from Holland, giggity! Drank n danced the night away, again! Haha Had a local Laos spirits, for the came cost as a long neck beer 10,000 kip ($1.20) we ordered a bottle to share, came out to the table in a resealed glass pepsi bottle!! Dodgy as but I’m all about recycling n the environment n stuff! haha Was rank strong but between 3 of us we shotted the lot! Haha this place is awesome!… Tubing today can’t wait!!!!!

On the road again
2 mornings after the full moon party n still feel hung over as! Waaa it’s been smashing down with rain, which has been fine cause I haven’t really felt like doing anything n the rain nicely drops the temp from way to hot to still to hot! Hehe had our return trip booked already to leave koh phnang but our boat was delayed a few hours n other boat services cancelled completely cause of the weather! Few nervs as we boarded the boat which was bopping up n down over a meter at the wharf, eeek on a narrow as plank thinki! Not really in the mood for a swim! Bot ride was rough as, seeing the waves pass the windows a few times, pumped the ipod n tried to ignore the other pale and slightly green faces about the boat. 5 hours later, dry land! Nice for about 30 mins then stuffed on an overnight bus for 11 hours!! Not fun at all! Had to sit next to a smelly Irish bloke, who smelt like he’d been partying for 3 days at full moon he forgot to shower, ‘correct answer’!! woot lucky me 10 points! waaa


Bangkok
With bugger all sleep got dropped off in Bangkok at 4:30am!!! On a random street somewhere in the city! WTF!! Took us a while to sort out where we were, thank god for 24 hour maccas our only refuge. Our connecting train ride didn’t leave till 6 that night so we stuffed about in bangcok city far ages, so epic seeing al the hustle n bustle after island hopping for the last month. The shopping centres were like form another planet (Planet ‘If you can see it you can’t afford it’) all the designer labels, electronics, jewellery, diamonds, a massive aquarium the usual mall stuff! including Ferrari, Lamborghini! Not sure how they got the cars to the 3rd floor but… whatever! In the arvo went to see a Buddhist temple near china town, a short boar trip away. Haven’t seen many temples but this one was sooo huge and with mouth wide open I studied the intricate and painstaking detail of the whole place! Amassing! Took bout a million photos! Haha didn’t get the boat back n thought we’d go find china town! Further into the thick of it, I hadn’t seen any other tourists for at least 15 mins, which was a bit unnerving to say the least, wandering about the shops n stalls. Wandered into a random street, wow! Gun alley! A row of about 25 shops selling everything from every handgun imaginable tiny ones for handbags to hand cannons, AK-47’s, m-16’s, assault shotguns the works. The stalls on the street outside, ‘the ones usually selling food n toys n junk’, now packed to the hilt with ammo belt, leather holsters, practice targets, police batons, real flick knives! Not sticking around to become the demonstration dummies for the hardware, made a hasty exit, not after a heap of angry looks from the locals! Prob couldn’t find it again if I tried we were kinda lost! Haha but that’s what tuk tuks fare for! Fastest thing on 3 wheels!

Had an overnight train to Viet tani which was my first real train ride, n it was a sleeper, thought it would be a sic time to catch up on sleep. Nope! The thing was that loud n rickety was kinda scared as we hurtled out way north, slamming on the breaks every hour or so to pick up chickens n rice or whatever they were doing. Had a Small amount of sleep thanks to my previous over the counter purchase of prescription sleeping pills, nice n handy when you think your going to die on train!

Party time!

Booked a night bus trip with connecting boat trip to coh pinang, party island! Such a good time to travel at night kills the time so well, was a bit nervus because I don’t travel very well on boats but the big blue bath tub was awesome. Whole length of the boat was one long bed everyone next to each other haha funny as. Slept the whole time n arrived at dawn, getting to out accom about 7, we had to sit about n wait for the workers to get up before we could get our bungalows. The only accom we booked form aus cause of the full moon party! Busy as! At 60$ for 4 nights it’s the most expensive place we’ve stayed, lush as tho really cute bungalows hot shower!! Whoa! Lap of luxury! Haha the beaches are awesome white sand n epic blue water. Still working on my killer tan, darkest I’ve been on my life, my ass glows in the dark it’s that white! Haha funny as. Met some south African ppl n partied with them a few nights ago, drinking the mini bar and charging drinks to the room, N swimming at 2 am beers in hand, Such a good night. Met up with mates we met in koh lanta, Dan, Soph, Dougan and Amanda, hired scooters n bommed about the island in search of waterfalls. Didn’t find any! So shit, they’re all marked out on the maps but such a liar! Still had fun burning about on gravel n rainforest tracks almost coming off, not such a hot idea with a helmet that doesn’t fit, shorts n no top on!

Went out the night before the full moon party so amazing! So many ppl, awesome music belting out of speakers stacked like jenga at a million decibels. Danced my ass off, dringing vodka redbull in buckets! Never seen such an irresponsible service of alcohol! Epic! You can get concentrated redbull here in small bottles 1 bottle = 10 normal redbull! So that means I had 60 redbulls last night only diluted with a bottle of vodka, no wonder I couldn’t sleep! Oops! Hahaha. N that was the night BEFORE the main full moon party!

From dusk till dawn

The day of the full moon party started rough for me, hung over as, but nothing could reck this night. Such a build up with the most tourists I’ve seen yet. A weird mood dawned over the whole place with brooding anticipation of the biggest and most dangerous beach party in the world only hours away, Everyone sitting about smashing water n food preparing for the night of nights. The ride to the party was so hectic, 12 of us in the back of a ute holding on for dear life as we hurtled along the most intense road twisting n turning up n down like a roller coaster. I like to call it ‘white-knuckle transport’, not actually sure if we’ll make it anywhere in one piece, Hehe fun tho, in a scary way. Met up with Dan’s group again preparing our selves with fluro body paint n trying not to drink to early so we can make to at least dawn! The party’s peaking at 5am and going till well into the next day, after party’s kicking off at 11am!!! Well wasted! The next 12 hours were a bit of a blurry mess of fire shows, dancing, drinking and generally having the best time ever!!! Mat thought it would be funny to throw sand on me whilst I was lying on the sand, couldn’t see out of one eye for ages! Never been so sandy in my life! I got him back tho, I can’t remember going it but I got a heap in his mouth, matt tried to wash it out with beer, but jess piped up n said don’t waste beer! so mat drank sandy muddy beer! Hahaha so funny! It’s a must; at least once in your lifetime do a full moon party (riot) hahaha so good. At a guess bout 20,000 to 30,000 ppl all smashed off their faces, dancing he night away! Haha epic! As the night got on saw some of the messiest ppl I’ve ever seen, ppl face down in the sand passed out! Matt saved a bloke who passed out whilst standing up, just keeled over in waste deep water!!! Not such a good idea! Haha Can’t remember the trip home just woke up in bed covered in a ton of sand, body paint half worn off, heap of glow sticks a sore shoulder WTF! A cut on my toe, paint in my hair, and hung over much?!!! My god it’s about 10pm now n I’m only just feeling ok. Hahaha and all this for the basement bargen price of 35$ Hahaha so worth it, lets have it large n go again! Hahaha

next stop!

we finally decided to leave koh lanta, after 11 nights! such a nice town heap of diving, load of expats with businesses, french and german bakers, poms buying bungalows, aussies getting hammered! haha the usual. getting to recognise a few of the over our stay, the night before we left headed to the pub on my own, was a good as night ppl buying me beers chatting meeting new ppl.

of course traveling on a boat n in a cramped van for 3 hours is way to easy, so what do i do, get hammered the night before just to make it interesting! haha waaaaa. trip wasn't to bad part form Jess' bag fell off the top of the van! oops, that's thai style! the driving still makes me uneasy, overtaking whenever, round blind corners, best one was a bus overtaking round a blind corner which happened to be a bridge! nice! HAHA n the scooters with 8 year old driving, whole family's on, mum, dad, 2 kids on the back, a baby, and a toddler stuffed between the drivers legs standing up! o and the food vendors, with hot deep fryers loaded with oil, gas bottles packed to the hilt with food, 3 wheeled scooter! nice n safe! haha

so we're back in krabi now, heap more tourist orientated, staying at good dream backpackers, best part about it, free net! woot and really fast! catching up on a few new albums, new ski movies just out the usual! so i've uploaded a heap of pics on facebook! have a gander, some golden ones!

thought i was in for a bout of food poisoning yesterday, at the markets they have delicious thai satay sticks, cheap as and so epic! but not this one. few bights in and mat n i had a bad feeling bout it so braced ourselves for the next hours entertainment! never came, so relieved! i was dreading staying at a hostel with a shared bathroom and then proceeding to destroy it! ah well wonder what culinary delights await today!?

Big day of firsts!
Still in koh lanta so good here all up 11 nights with a few more to go, epic! Yesterday we hired some bikes, no big, but I thought I’d try a manual for the first time, all good, bit sketch but not going to die, yet. We planned to go for a mission down the island and see a waterfall. On the way saw an English guy I’d met the night before, he hadn’t see much of the island yet so he hopped on the back of my scooter, first time for that as well! Real sketch at the start but I got the hang of it. The road to the waterfall was a mix of streets dirt tracks winding narrow roads n just kept getting worse, with massive ruts and at one point it was so steep Dan had to get off cause we’d topple over backwards. Their roads my old subi might not be able to handle! Not a street scooter with thin as tyres with 2 blokes on it! Haha was funny as but a few hairy moments!
Another first for me was seeing elephants! Woot so huge! We headed in search of the alleged waterfall, via almost getting lost a few times seeing a bat cave on the way, and Dan almost dying! We thought he’d been bitten but turned out to many beers the night before n not enough water, made him wig out, dizzy, tunnel vision, couldn’t see properly! The usual shit! Haha the waterfall was a bit shit but refreshing for a shower, the jungle was the best bit epic plants, huge trees, leaves my arm width across! Was sweet, and the noise, shrieks, buzzing, bugs doing their thing, was so loud! Couldn’t see any animals but prob didn’t want to! Bugs like basketballs the usual jungle caper.
Later that night went back to mong bar, the one with the snakes in bottles! Couldn’t resist! Dans crew came as well all Poms real nice bunch, had a few beers n the rest. Mong the owner came out with the snakes in bottles again n the Poms all had a go “when in rome”. Then cause he knew we had the snakes before he said you have to try this one, “makes you smart” was crushed monkeys brains, in alcohol! no shit! haha so of course I had a go! Bits of bone n junk in my mouth! Ahhh! Took a bit to overcome the idea, but whatever! n the night was only young!
The boys form the bar put on a fire show fire poy and fire staff, was really epic seeing good ppl doing it! Of course I had a go of both! Haha bit nervus n very hot but I didn’t catch myself on fire so happy days! Few more beers n other business, thought it was a good idea to have a go at fire breathing! Never done it so y not! The heat was insane and took me till this morning to get the taste out of my mouth n stop kero burping!!! Haha
N that’s my big day/night! Ask me about it I left some details out, got to leave some good storied for later!

Dam hot!

Dam this place calls for some hectic amounts of lotions, screens, sprays n nets! E.g. get up in the morning put on sunscreen, then bushman’s bug repellent, which is that strong 2 mins after applying I can taste it in my mouth! Rank. Head into the sun more sunscreen; head anywhere that’s not the beach, bug stuff + sunscreen! Even bedtime more bug stuff check! Light citronella candle check! Make sure drink bottle is inside the bug net, check! Get in bug net, check! Fill the bug net with “Instakill, extreme tropical strength, kill everything spray”(napalm), check! And I still wake up bitten!! On top of that cause of all the stuff on my skin + sweat the sheets stick to me n I always wake up rolled tighter that a mykonos kebab! If anyone thinks of something I’ve forgotten please email me!

Phuket

Landed in Phuket was the biggest shock for me, for starters the heat was like a punch in the face and a wet one at that bout 30 deg, night and humidity to boot. The culture was next shock with about 30 Thai blokes yelling at us “took took” where you go? Taxi? You pay? All at the same time, ahhh! Hasn’t really stopped with varying degrease of harshness. Rolled into Phuket town at night on the way to the backpackers, biggest blow out with scooters bikes n cars flying about in a messy dodgem game with no rules. Even the red n green lights have countdown timers so you can speed up from ages away so you can shoot through at the last second. Fun only if you’re driving!
In Phuket town staying at a backpackers pretty basic but the air con was lush even though the unit was the size of a mini van, sounded like a waterfall and I slept within a foot of it, Bit it was cold so all good. Session a few day markets an early morning one where the restaurant owners shop was interesting as, heap of produce, piles of fish, spices and pastes, which smelled awesome! Thai pancakes, which are really thin dough with sugar and condensed milk wrapped in paper, at 20 THB, bout 60c can’t go wrong.
Travelled about Phuket n onto the coast where we found ourselves (like many times in the last few days) drinking 6.5% beer which usually come s in a longneck ad costs about 3$, before midday! Haha bit jetlagged still! Harassed about on the beach drinking and getting burnt as. Fun as!

Phi Phi

Early buss trip in a cramped as mini buss dropped us at a port where a ferry was to take us to phi phi, along with 100+ Indian men all taking enough still images if edited together would make a high def video of the whole boat ride. Not really sure why but some of them started taking pics of matt jess n I! Prob cause we were still white as with patched of red burnt skin! Now that I think of it prob looked like a magic mushroom! Hahaha
The boat took us past the back of phi phi n around to “The Beach” bout a million boats crowded around looked epic but decided to give it a miss, good thing to cause the best was still to come.
We had arranged via some ppl selling accommodation on the boat (cause we hadn’t organize anything at this stage, hehe) to stay a few beaches away from the main beach, such a good choice, we burned up to thin place with shanty bamboo huts, with Rastafarian flags flying, to the friendliest ppl. I was wondering at this stage y everything was looking a bit run down and ppl frantically building things n cleaning. We’ve arrived in Thailand at the start of the busy season so there all trying to get things sorted, Thai style! Very slow! Haha was sic as tho, relaxed on the beaches, and went snorkelling to near buy beaches!! Soooo good with like 2 ppl on them! N THE FISH! WOW so amazing, have never see so many types. No wonder mum n dad are advanced divers! I took a heap of shots with my underwater camera but its a bit old n showed it cause it’s now busted! Oops! Got a few good ones tho.
Met a few French boy’s n went into phi phi main town! So hectic, so many tourists from all over! Sic night jumping through fire hoops n skipping ropes on fire wan fun as, o yeah n the local bar ppl giving you shots every time you did! To say the least I did it quite a few times! Tried to learn a bit of French from them but was waster n forgot most of it! Haha.

Krabi
Early start morning, n we’re off to Krabi, not sure if I’m feeling ok or still drunk! Found out bout ten mins into the hour n a half boat ride I was still pissed n was all down hill from there, curled up on the handrail of the boat, asleep for most of it, matt n jess got a few good shots of me as a sleepy pirate! Arrrgzzzzzzzz!
Heap pf locals trying to get us into taxis and buy accommodation awaited us on arrival, spoke to a bloke who was really nice called JP he had cheap rooms on krabi town. Sounded good at the time n ended up being awesome, close as to the locals market where it seemed all the locals were eating, awesome fruits and curries, mainly Muslim area.
Went for beers at a local tattoo place, spoke to the artist there ended up being number one in Thailand! Matt decided to get the tattoo done that he’s always wanted, few beers n shots with the Thai boys, one tattoo and a sing along followed, epic night!

Met bloke who came for a holiday 2 years ago n hasn’t left yet, told us we should head up town to a 10-day festival. Ended up being awesome local music, covers of old school American classics (they love it there). Big blow out with all the stalls selling flick knives butterfly knives swords replica handguns as bb guns! Haha funny

Thought we might hire some scooters for the day so we headed out in search of the hot springs, finally made it with a few navigation issues, hectic Thai traffic, a scooter with no Speedo (not that it matters here). O yeah almost forgot got pulled over by the Thai police!!! Shitting my pants when he asked for my licence so excited getting on my scooter totally forgot!!! Through broken English the cop wanted 300! I was awww no! 300 American!! Had to pay, no arguing with these ppl, so went over to the cop shop on the side of the road n only ended up being 300 bart bout 9$ aus! Few!!! So relieved! Bach on the road n into the jungle. AMASING crystal clear waters and 42deg!!! Wow so hot! Soooo nice, had minerals n some other natural junk in the water, felt good as getting out of the water n feeling cool again, even just or a second!
Waterfalls were next on the list! Burning about this beautiful country on a scooter is so nice, seeing all the farms and local ppl, trucks packed to the hilt, usually of a fruit that smells like S#!T. Saw an elephant, matt n jess saw a snake, Epic shear cliffs and dense as jungle. Found the waterfall along with a million types of bugs, not my favourite, but the water was fresh and the falls spectacular.

Decided to go on an organised long boat snorkelling trip with few other tourists, went to a reef and 3 beaches, apart from the Asians, squealing if a fish the size of your hand came within 10 meters of them. It was awesome, I recon the Vis would have been at least 20m, saw so many types of fish, little ones big ones, meter long barracouta! Eeek! Had to be after my camera broke so no under water pics WAAAAAA! O yeah n we found nemo!!! So epic and perfect in a soft wispy long choral with the whole family bout 5 all up bout 80mm to the baby one bout 15mm, so cute! Went to a place caller Rae lee, has an epic beach but if you’re a climber, or even impressed by the sport this place is amazing with 100+ shear cliffs, caves n countless climbs to do it’s paradise buy this time mat n jesses camera had run out of battery! Dimmitt!!! Heading back on the boat you could see tiny specks on the cliff face ppl climbing such an impressive sight.


Koh Lanta
Headed off from krabi by van and ferry, took about 3 hours but soooo worth it, this place is to be said as the new place to be. Well it will be in a few months, a lot of building going on amping up for summer. Found a place to stay called Lanta beach resort, 200 bart a night, dbl bed with fan and own bathroom! Epic. Came home yesterday to find a woman making my bed! Hahahaha sweet!
The Thai ppl love Rastafarian life and Bob Marley! So many flags flying and a heap of the locals sporting hemp t’s. Went to a bar called Opium! No shit! Haha epic party free bbq, met a heap of ppl form England getting married here, such an epic place to splash out in luxury, well as long as the “magic menu” doesn’t take all your cash!!! Hahaha no shit we followed some painted signs that said mushy shakes on the scooters, took us to an amasing beach bar with blokes whacked as cats. Had a few beers deciding on what to do next….. the owner comes over with a tray of bottles. All with a different snake inside!!!! Sea snake some brown one a small sea snake n some other random snake. He said “for you to try” wow hell yes! they keep the snakes in the bottles for 5 days then fill up with whatever booz, I think it was the local spirit! O yeah n the one we chose also had a scorpion in it as well!!! Can’t remember if leo out of the beach had snake blood or venom! But hey whatever this is Thailand!!! Craziest thing yet……. Hahaha YET

Night out in lanta

Night started with a walk along the beach, relaxed as, no to hectic, flat out doing nothing as usual! Got invited to a party, some xpat hang out where everyone was a dive instructor, master or just arrived for a 6-month holiday WTF! Haha matt n jess left so chatted to some locals friendly as. A Scottish couple just bought a resort here n are doing it up, what a life! Got offered a job at a place about to be opened call jackaroos, not that keen but owner kept buying me beers so what the hell! Hahaha. Got a scooter ride home with some other ppl I just met, 2’s company on a scooter but 3 dodge as hahaha!!!


Been here in koh lanta for a bit now been so nice relaxing, eating from the on street food venters, and pretty much flat out doing bugger all! The food here is amazing! An old lady selling meat balls n snags on a stich covered in chilli sauce, epic at 10 bart! Our favourite place so far is a little place on the street with the best fruit shakes, and noodles, soup n curries! The food here still blows me away, so much flavour n so tasty all the time! The food looks like it’s going to kill you, sitting on the bench all night just waiting for someone to by it, steered away from most places with chicken pre cooked. But we have all been pretty adventurous with what we’ve been eating. No idea what we are ordering but mast of the time lush as.

Matt had a dish the other night in krabi “like no meat I’ve ever tasted!” haha. Same night jess got wailed buy a sneaky green chilly; it bought tears to her eyes for about 10 mins! I’ve never seen anyone react like that to a chilly!
